All our GymRatZ Heavy Duty Gym Equipment that features bearings and guide rods such as this counter balanced smith machine, leg press etc are built using Thompson Linear Bearings. These bearings are certainly not cheap with a retail price in excess of £50 per bearing race direct from manufacturer but the highest spec. equipment requires the highest specification components to ensure both capabillity and longevity. It might add to the initial price but we guarantee the action will remain smooth and free-running for life.
Another key feature of our counter balanced smith machine is that the bar rotates on roller bearings unlike most smith machines that use bushes; this means that the bar is ultra-smooth to rotate and lock-off even under the heaviest of loads, something other smith machines can't match.
