Are all standard weights the same?

No, far from it. We have noticed that some Marcy weights actually have a bigger hole than the standard 25mm (1") If you have Marcy dumbell handles you may find that only Marcy plates will fit so best to check first.

The bulk of the cast weights and steel bars used in weightlifting are manufactured in China the most import thing when picking weights is that the weights weigh what they should, are labeled appropriately, finished to a good standard and they can stand up to the pounding of a home or commercial gym which they can.
