York STS 35 degree Leg Press

Following on with York Barbells' Full commercial STS range of full commercial gym equipment we have their 35 degree leg press.

Coming in slightly higher on price than our own GymRatZ 45 degree leg-press but the most significant difference is that being flat-packed it's generally available from stock on a next day delivery.
Down-side... You'll need somone with a bit of a clue to put it together as it comes in lots of bits whereas our fabricated leg press comes in 2 bits on a pallet.

What's awesome about this leg-press is the huge foot-plate that allows for a vast variety of foot positions.
Yes a 35 degree leg-press has a reduced weight effect compared to a 45 degree incline i.e. the same weight isn't lifted as high so the effect of 100Kg on a 45 degree leg press affords a greater load than a 35 degree press with the same weight but with a 545Kg (1200lb) load rating of this unit there's plenty of capacity for all but the most demanding of athletes.

Another excellent feature is the adjustable carriage stops. I've always been a huge advocate of individual leg training. Not saying it should be performed instead of 2 legs working together because I feel it's easier to neurologically "connect" to both legs at once than it is to a single leg but it means that you can load up much less weight and work legs individually.
You can also set the stops much higher than most leg press stations on the market which is great for calf raises.

What eles? Oh yes, there's an adjustable seat pad. Again, not something typically found on the leg-press in general but it adds another option for different body mechanics either for hitting the muscles differently or for users with limited/restricted flexibillity.

The foot-plate weights around 50Kg so you need a couple of people to put it together but it's a cracking full commercial leg-press worthy of serious consideration for any commercial of hard-core home gym.
